Bodega El Lomo
Tegueste

Bodega El Lomo, located in Tegueste, is one of the great ambassadors of viticulture in northern Tenerife. Founded in 1989 as a family project, in just a few decades it has established itself as a benchmark in the Tacoronte-Acentejo Designation of Origin, standing out for its balance between respect for tradition and the incorporation of modern winemaking techniques.
The winery sits on a volcanic terraced estate that takes advantage of the orientation and humidity of the trade winds to produce high-quality grapes. Its crops are dominated by native varieties such as Listán Negro, Listán Blanco, Negramoll, and Tintilla, which lend identity and diversity to its wines. This commitment to local wines is reflected in the wide range of fresh and aromatic whites, expressive reds, and balanced rosés produced each year.
The winery building combines traditional spaces with modern facilities that allow for rigorous control of the winemaking process without losing its artisanal essence. During guided tours, visitors can tour the vineyards, explore the winemaking and aging rooms, and discover how the combination of volcanic soil and the Atlantic climate shapes each bottle.
The experience culminates in the tasting room, where wines are tasted accompanied by cheeses, mojos, and other Canarian products, reinforcing the connection between food and wine. Bodega El Lomo not only conveys the flavor of the land, but also the family spirit and passion of those who have turned this corner of Tegueste into a wine tourism landmark.

Where to eat
Sora Kai
If you come to Sora Kai in El Sauzal, it's primarily for the views and the excellent Japanese food. You sit on their open terraces facing the sea and Mount Teide, enjoying a relaxed atmosphere that makes the sunset seem to last longer. Here, Japanese cuisine has a modern twist, the service is friendly and professional, and the overall feeling is that of a place to linger, chatting over a drink and some sushi.
What to see
Presa de los Campitos
If you're looking for a peaceful getaway near Santa Cruz with a unique twist, the Los Campitos Dam has something special. It's not just nature: it's an abandoned structure that lends a distinctive character to the surroundings. You can stroll around, explore, and discover the contrast between the natural landscape and what was left unused. It's a little-known spot, perfect for disconnecting and discovering something different without going too far.
Activities
Área Recreativa Llano Los Viejos
If you're looking for a picnic area within Anaga that's more secluded and less crowded than others, Llano de Los Viejos has a very different feel. Here you're immersed in the laurel forest, with frequent mist, humidity, and that typical silence of the northern mountains. It's a more enclosed spot, perfect for relaxing, having a picnic or barbecue, and disconnecting from the hustle and bustle.
Beaches
Mesa del Mar
Visiting Mesa del Mar is like stepping into a tranquil corner where northern Tenerife feels most authentic. Upon arrival, you'll find a small coastal village nestled between cliffs, natural pools, and the open sea. Here, everything invites you to slow down: walk along the water's edge, sit and gaze at the Atlantic, and enjoy a local atmosphere, unhurried and unpretentious.
Nightlife
Terrazas del Sauzal
Having a drink at Terrazas del Sauzal is much more than just sitting on a terrace. You come here for the views. The Atlantic Ocean stretches out before you, Mount Teide dominates the horizon, and you'll witness one of the most spectacular sunsets in northern Tenerife. Although it has a well-known restaurant and brunch menu, many people simply come to enjoy a drink, a coffee, or a relaxing cocktail amidst gardens and open terraces with a panorama that's hard to beat on the island.
Shopping
Ron Guajiro
If you want to try a rum with a true Canarian identity, Guajiro is one of those that's part of the local culture. You'll notice it especially in the honey rum: sweet, smooth, and very easy to drink, perfect after a meal or on the rocks. They also have drier and oaked versions if you prefer something more robust. It's a very local product, the kind you'll find in traditional bars and shops around the island.

Trekking
El Tomadero
A circular route in Anaga Rural Park connecting Punta del Hidalgo with El Tomadero, ascending via a channel carved into the rock and descending through the ravine. It's approximately 6 km with little elevation gain, but includes technical and exposed sections that increase the difficulty. The channel is in very good condition and clean, although it can be quite vertigo-inducing in some places. The descent through the ravine is rocky and uncomfortable. A short but demanding route, not recommended for people with vertigo.
