Titolo 4
Mercado del Agricultor San Miguel de Abona
Las Chafiras

The San Miguel de Abona Farmers Market, located in the Las Chafiras area, is one of the southern destinations for those seeking quality local produce. It offers consumers the best of the island's agriculture and gastronomy, with stalls selling freshly harvested fruits and vegetables, artisanal cheeses, wines with designation of origin, homemade pastries, traditional breads, honey, and other products made on the island.
The value of this market lies in the direct relationship between farmer and customer: visitors buy without intermediaries, ensuring freshness, fair prices, and a very personal touch. This contact turns each purchase into an authentic experience, maintaining the connection between the land and the table. In addition, alongside fresh food, flowers, plants, and organic products are offered, expanding the variety and appeal of the place.
The market is open on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., becoming a weekly must-see for both locals and visitors looking for something more than just a place to shop. During these mornings, the area is filled with aromas, colors, and life, reflecting the essence of the Canarian countryside in the heart of the southern region. For residents, it represents a way to support the local economy and keep agricultural customs alive, while for tourists, it offers a genuine experience of Tenerife, removed from mass tourism and linked to the island's traditions.

Mess conferma
Where to eat
Heladería Artesanal la Tejita
If you're in the La Tejita area and fancy something refreshing after the beach, this ice cream shop is a great place to stop. Here you'll find artisanal ice creams with a variety of delicious flavors, perfect for a quick treat while you're strolling or relaxing after a day at the beach. It's a simple, pleasant, and very convenient spot to indulge without any fuss.
What to see
La Hoya
The hamlet of La Hoya, in San Miguel de Abona, is one of those places that helps you understand what life was like in southern Tenerife before tourism. Declared a Site of Cultural Interest as an Ethnological Site, it preserves traditional architecture, historic paths, water sources, and agricultural terraces in a rural setting that has changed very little over time.
Activities
Tunolandia Canarias
This is a distinctive plan on the island of Tenerife across all the playa and hotels, Tunolandia is one of these curiosities that are so popular. In the Valle de San Lorenzo, this space consists of a variety of tuneras, gastronomy, tradition and products based on high pico. Aquí puedes pasear entre cactus gigantes, probar mermeladas, licores o mojo de tuno y descubrir una cara mucho más rural y diferente del sur de la isla.
Beaches
Playa de los Cristianos Puerto
Los Cristianos Beach, next to the port of the same name, is one of the most iconic beaches in southern Tenerife. Protected from the waves by the pier, it offers calm waters and golden sand, perfect for swimming and strolling. From the shore, you can observe the activity of the fishing port and the departure of ferries to La Gomera, combining a local atmosphere with the maritime charm of a traditional coastal town.
Nightlife
Bahia Beach
Bahía Beach Restaurant is one of those places where the real star isn't the food, but the oceanfront ambiance. Located in Palm-Mar, literally right on the ocean, it functions more like a relaxed beach lounge where you come to enjoy a cocktail, listen to music, and watch the sunset with the sound of the waves in the background. The Balinese beds, live music, and terrace overlooking the sea make it easy to end up staying for hours without even realizing it.
Shopping
Miel Tament
Tament, which means "honey" in the Amazigh language, is an artisanal gem produced on the same estate that makes Nevales de Abona wine, using Canarian black bees. It is multifloral, pure, and deep golden in color, with a smooth texture and balanced sweetness. Although it doesn't have an official organic seal, it is produced using sustainable and traditional methods. Like the wines, this product can only be found at the San Isidro Farmers Market, at Elsa's stand.
Sports
Zona de calistenia en el Puerto de San Miguel
The Calistenia area of Puerto de San Miguel, in Amarilla Golf, is one of these locations that offers a complete experience. The park is beautiful and not particularly large, but it is just outside the sea, just like the port of sports, as it can be seen with views of the boats, the ocean and the volcanic landscape on the Costa Sur. A very tranquil location for outdoor activities in the more urban atmosphere of other parks.
Trekking
Sendero Montaña Roja
Walking the circular route that starts in El Médano and heads toward Montaña Roja is like stepping into an otherworldly volcanic landscape: reddish sand, deep blue sea, and the wind that caresses you with every step. You can see World War II bunkers, aquatic birds, and panoramic views of the southern part of the island. You'll love it if you're looking for an easy hike with that "reconnect with nature" feel in southern Tenerife.
