Titolo 4
Charco del viento
La Guancha

Nestled in the Santa Catalina neighbourhood of La Guancha, Charco del Viento is one of the most authentic and accessible natural pools in the north of Tenerife, and a local classic. It originated when volcanic lava flows entered the sea, cooling rapidly to form two arms of lava that offer a gentle swell and crystal clear waters perfect for swimming or snorkelling among rocky bottoms full of life.
It's known as one of the most crowded pools in the north, but maintains a relaxed atmosphere. There are both sandy and rocky areas, giving you a variety of areas to lie, snorkel or swim in peace and quiet. In addition, Mount Teide looms on the horizon like a volcanic guardian in the background, creating a view that few other places can offer.
Although there are no services such as lifeguards or showers, the natural environment is well cared for. Footwear is recommended for rocky walkways and keeping an eye on the tides. Surrounded by native vegetation and with local fauna such as seagulls and lizards, a walk from the bustling port of Icod or from more urban areas to here is an immersion in green and volcanic Tenerife.
It is suitable for the whole family or for those looking to unwind in an environment that fuses basic comfort, unspoilt nature and memorable views. A pool that combines geological beauty, clear sea and easy access: the kind of place that makes you feel proud of the island.
