Titolo 4
Charco de Los Frailes
Garachico

Charco de Los Frailes is one of those places that seem to resist the passage of time. Located near Garachico, this coastal enclave is a small treasure hidden among lava formations and cliffs. Access, although somewhat uneven, is part of its charm: a short walk through stone paths and coastal vegetation leads to a rugged landscape, where the Atlantic crashes forcefully and nature reveals itself in its purest form.
The pool forms in a natural depression between the volcanic rocks, where seawater enters and is renewed with each wave. On calm days, it becomes a natural pool of clean, clear water, perfect for a short swim or simply dipping your feet in and enjoying the surroundings. However, when the waves rise, the visual spectacle is breathtaking: the water crashes against the rocks and rises in a white foam, creating an almost hypnotic atmosphere.
There are no restrooms, no beach bars, or adapted areas—and that is precisely what makes it so special. Charco de Los Frailes maintains a direct connection with the coastal landscape of northern Tenerife, where the power of the sea dictates the rhythm of the place. It's common to find locals here fishing, hiking, or simply watching the sunset, when the golden hues of the sun illuminate the rocks and the horizon seems endless.
The name "Los Frailes" comes from the history and shape of the rocks emerging from the sea, which, according to locals, resemble the figures of hooded monks. This blend of nature and legend reinforces the mystique of the place, where the silence is only broken by the sound of the ocean.
Visiting this pool is not just a swim; it's an experience of connection with Tenerife's wildest coast. A place for those seeking authenticity, tranquility, and direct contact with Atlantic nature in its purest state.
