Titolo 4
Sendero de la Rambla de Castro,
Los Realejos (Rambla de Castro)

"La Rambla de Castro is one of those trails that surprises you: wild landscapes along the Atlantic, tropical palm groves, and a wealth of Canarian heritage. With 9 linear kilometers and low difficulty, it's ideal for families, leisurely walkers, and anyone looking to enjoy it without exertion.
The route usually starts at the Mirador El Burgado (or San Pedro) and has few gradients—although some cobbled sections descending into the ravine can be difficult for the legs. During the route, you pass by Los Roques beach, eroded by the sea, then cross areas with banana, tabaiba, and dragon tree plantations, all within the Rambla de Castro Protected Landscape, which has some 45 hectares of endemic flora and birds such as the Cory's shearwater and the black lizard.
Then you come across the Casona de Castro, a stately 16th-century mansion, followed by the Fortín de San Fernando, an 18th-century coastal fortress built to defend against pirate attacks. Further on, the ruins of the elevator appear. The waters of La Gordejuela, with its industrial structure dating back to 1903, where the first steam engine in Tenerife was installed to irrigate banana trees. It's one of the most photogenic ruins you'll see.
You can choose to go down to La Fajana beach, a quiet spot where, during the rainy season, a waterfall flows into the sea, creating an almost magical setting. The route ends at the Mirador de San Pedro, with panoramic views of the coast, ideal for finishing with a photo or finding transportation back (buses such as lines 330, 363, or 546 are available).
Wear comfortable shoes (there are rocky sections and stairs), water, and a snack. Wear sunscreen and a hat: the final section is unshaded. It is forbidden to leave the trail, respect the flora, leave no litter, and avoid approaching the cliffs. Although accessible, it has gentle slopes; it is closed to disabled access.

Where to eat
Persia Tenerife
If you're looking to try something different in Puerto de la Cruz, this restaurant offers a taste of the Middle East without leaving the historic center. Here you'll find Persian cuisine bursting with intense aromas, where saffron, fresh herbs, yogurt, and nuts define the character of the dishes. I love it because it doesn't try too hard to be a tourist: it invites you to discover authentic Iranian flavors in a warm and relaxed atmosphere.
What to see
Escalera de Agatha Christie
If you love literature, this staircase will bring a smile to your face. Right on the Paseo San Amaro, you'll see steps transformed into the spines of Agatha Christie books, painted in vibrant colors and bearing recognizable titles. It's a tribute to her visit to Tenerife in 1927. When you climb them, you're not just walking; you're traversing a part of her history and her connection to Puerto de la Cruz.
Activities
La Guarida del Pirata
At The Pirate's Lair, you don't come to just watch: you come to play, explore, and become part of a story. It's an outdoor family adventure park in Los Realejos, designed for birthdays and experiences where children and adults solve riddles, follow pirate maps, and live a real adventure in the heart of nature.
Beaches
Playa el Ancón
El Ancón beach in La Orotava welcomes you with its dark volcanic sand and a deep blue sea that shifts with the light. It's a wide beach with lively waves and a natural setting that invites you to stroll, gaze at the horizon, and feel the power of the Atlantic. Ideal if you love authentic, unspoiled beaches with a pristine volcanic landscape.
Nightlife
Shopping
Las Llanadas
If you enjoy discovering local products directly from their source, this small artisanal cheese factory in Los Realejos is one of those places where cheese is still made the traditional way. They work primarily with goat's milk and produce fresh, semi-cured, and smoked cheeses, as well as ricotta and other dairy products. It's a place closely linked to the primary sector of northern Tenerife, where the authentic flavor of Canarian cheese takes center stage.
Sports
Parapente Mirador de la Corona
Mirador de La Corona is one of the most popular paragliding takeoff sites in Tenerife and the entire Canary Islands. Located at an altitude of approximately 750 meters in Icod El Alto, it offers stable flight conditions throughout most of the year. From here, takeoff offers stunning views of the Orotava Valley and the Atlantic, making each flight a unique experience for both experienced pilots and those trying tandem flights.
