Playa Del Camisón

Las Americas

Playa del Camisón is that beach that looks like something out of a holiday catalogue. It is in the middle of the tourist area of Playa de las Américas, surrounded by hotels, restaurants and shops, so yes, there is a lot of tourism, but it still has a more relaxed and tidy feel than other larger beaches in the area.

It's a small, pretty and well-kept beach, with fine golden sand (the kind that doesn't burn your feet right away), crystal clear waters and artificial breakers that hold back the waves. This means that the sea is calm almost all the time, ideal for swimming without any shocks or simply floating as if you were in a natural spa.

Within walking distance you have sun beds, umbrellas, showers, lifeguards and a promenade that connects to other nearby beaches, such as Las Vistas. If you fancy a stroll before or after sunbathing, it's easy. And if you get hungry, you don't have to go far: there are beach bars and terraces where you can have a cocktail or a snack without losing sight of the sea.

The atmosphere is very international and family-oriented, with couples, groups of friends and tourists coming down from nearby hotels. Despite the crowds, it doesn't feel overwhelming (unless it's the middle of August, of course), and it has that chill and elegant touch, thanks to the palm trees that surround it and how well maintained it is.
