El Monasterio

Los Realejos

El Mesón-Monasterio, in Los Realejos, is a place steeped in history: founded as a hacienda by Fray Antonio el Gomero in 1788—already a community exchange point—it is now a monumental gastronomic oasis. Renovated in 1990, this former monastery spans over 100,000 m² next to the Montañeta mountain. It houses five distinct spaces that share a common spirit: rustic lounges, plant-filled terraces, a cave-like wine cellar with barrels, a shop selling bread, artisanal delicacies, and a gourmet shop, as well as gardens populated by free-roaming birds.

The atmosphere changes with the rhythm of the day: from breakfasts and brunches on the sun-drenched terrace to family meals or casual tapas. The cuisine offers everything from tapas and homemade sweets to traditional Canarian dishes, coffees, and local wines, all served in a setting that invites you to linger. All wrapped in a serene atmosphere where history and service merge.

This space isn't just a restaurant; it's a holistic experience: cuisine, architecture, nature, heritage, and comfort all converge here. Ideal for those seeking more than just food; they want to connect with local history, lose themselves in manicured gardens, and enjoy an environment steeped in authenticity, simple elegance, and the historic Tenerife soul.

What to see

Playa de los Roques

Los Roques Beach is a wild volcanic cove brimming with charm. Black sand mixed with pebbles, and two giant rocks emerge from the sea like natural sculptures. Barely 350 meters long and with no services, the beach has a very peaceful atmosphere. You can reach it by walking along the water path from Rambla de Castro. Strong waves: ideal for viewing, not for swimming.

Activities

Refugio Internacional para Animales

The International Animal Shelter in La Cruz Santa (Los Realejos, northern Tenerife) has been rescuing abandoned or abused dogs since 1976. All animals taken in are sterilized, vaccinated, identified, dewormed, and tested for heartworm. Visiting not only allows you to learn about essential work, but also to contribute to the community by giving a voice to those who cannot ask for help on their own.

Beaches

Playa del Socorro

Playa del Socorro is a jewel of northern Tenerife: black volcanic sand, powerful waves, and a natural cliff setting. Surfers and swimmers mingle thanks to the breakwaters that keep the waves away from the shore. It's equipped with lifeguards, showers, beach bars, accessible access, and the "El Puntito" youth area. A great way to connect with nature and experience a memorable sunset.
