Street Workout
Playa San Juan

The Street Workout park at Playa San Juan isn't the biggest or most technically advanced in Tenerife, but it is one of the best locations for outdoor training on the island. It's literally right on the seafront, integrated into the promenade, with open ocean views and a much more tranquil atmosphere than other sports parks in the south.
Here, you train to the sound of the waves, the constant sea breeze, and a relaxed feeling all around. Playa San Juan still maintains a more local and less hectic pace than other tourist areas, and this is reflected in this space. It's not usually overcrowded, nor does it have the more competitive dynamic you might find in other, more well-known calisthenics parks.
The facility has the basics for a complete routine: pull-up bars, parallel bars, and simple structures for functional exercises and bodyweight training. It's a practical park, designed for effective training without too many complications. Whether you want a quick session or train regularly, the surroundings make you want to stay longer.
Another important detail is everything that surrounds you. Right next door is the Playa San Juan promenade, a popular spot for walking, running, or simply relaxing by the sea after a workout. There's also the beach itself, swimming areas, and several bars and restaurants where you can relax and have a drink, so many people make their training part of a longer plan.
Sunsets here also significantly enhance the experience. Being completely open to the ocean, the last light and the views towards La Gomera create a particularly pleasant atmosphere in the evening.
This isn't a park designed to impress with its size or technical difficulty. Its strength lies elsewhere: training practically next to the water, in a peaceful coastal area with one of the most enjoyable atmospheres in southern Tenerife.

Where to eat
Berry’s
If you're strolling along the Los Gigantes harbor and fancy a proper ice cream, this is the place to stop. At Berry's, you'll immediately notice it's not your typical tourist ice cream: meticulously crafted flavors, a creamy texture, and combinations that are anything but ordinary. Order one, sit near the sea, and savor it at your leisure, enjoying the tranquil atmosphere of this area.
What to see
Centro Alfarero y Museo Etnográfico Cha Domitila
The Cha Domitila Pottery Center, in Arguayo, is a living museum of traditional Canarian pottery with direct roots in Guanche culture. Here, artisans reproduce ancestral techniques without a wheel or glaze, inherited from pre-Hispanic potters, creating pieces such as gánigos and bernegales. A space where indigenous memory is kept alive through clay.
Activities
Avistamiento de Aves Los Gigantes
The Los Gigantes Cliffs are a spectacular place to observe seabirds and birds of prey in Tenerife. From here, you can see species such as the osprey, the falcon, and the raven, which nest on the cliffs. The vertical walls that drop to the sea, the rocky coastal areas, and the proximity to the ocean make it an ideal natural viewpoint for those who love nature, the wind, and open skies.
Beaches
Piscina Natural Acantilados de los Gigantes
The Los Gigantes natural pool is a hidden spot among volcanic rocks, where you can swim with direct views of the imposing cliffs that give the area its name. Protected from the waves, it offers crystal-clear waters and a peaceful atmosphere, ideal for relaxing after a day at the beach or hiking. Just a few meters from the port, it combines natural charm with the convenience of bars and restaurants nearby, all against the spectacular backdrop of the Atlantic.
Nightlife
Roca Negra
Roca Negra Sunset Club, in Playa Paraíso, is one of those places in southern Tenerife where you can enjoy a drink overlooking the sea as the sun sets. With beanbag chairs perched on the volcanic rock, direct views of La Gomera, and a daily gong show at sunset, it's a must-do for experiencing the sunset in style.
Shopping
Quesería Artesanal Montesdeoca
Quesería Artesanal Montesdeoca is a family business founded in 1984 that produces artisanal goat, sheep, and cow cheeses in Adeje, Tenerife. With three generations at its helm, it has accumulated more than 70 awards—four times best cheese in Tenerife—and offers guided tours and tastings at its farm. It combines tradition, innovation, and quality in every bite.
Sports
Paragliding Park
The Taucho Paragliding Park is one of Tenerife's paragliding landmarks. From here, takeoffs offer spectacular views of Adeje and the southwest coast, with flying conditions almost year-round. It's a popular destination for both experienced pilots and those trying a tandem for the first time. What makes Taucho special is its stable climate, the takeoff altitude, and the relaxed community atmosphere.
Trekking
Montaña Tejina
If you enjoy less crowded hiking in southern Tenerife, this circular route around Montaña de Tejina is a very complete option. You'll walk approximately 13 km around this large volcanic crag, over a thousand meters high, which was a sacred site and key center of social interaction for the Guanches. The route passes through ravines, ancient threshing floors, small hermitages, and traditional agricultural remains. There's hardly any shade, but in return, you'll have open panoramic views for much of the way and a constant sense of a rural, volcanic, and mystical landscape.
