When you arrive at Los Cipreses de La Casa Inglesa in Vilaflor, the first thing that strikes you is its atmosphere: it's a restaurant that combines the simplicity of a small town with a carefully crafted and flavorful culinary offering. Located next to La Casa Inglesa, a historic building that adds even more character to the surroundings, a special tranquility pervades the terrace, open to the countryside and mountains, inviting you to linger over your meal.

The menu at Los Cipreses blends Canarian flavors with Mediterranean nuances: there are classic starters like wrinkled potatoes with mojo sauce, grilled cheese with honey and mojo, traditional soups, and hearty stews that are perfect for a cold mountain day. The main courses are well thought out, with options ranging from perfectly cooked meats to lighter or more creative dishes, always maintaining a foundation of expertly prepared local ingredients.

For me, one of its greatest attractions is the atmosphere inside: it's not a large or noisy restaurant, but a cozy space where the friendly and attentive service makes you feel comfortable and well taken care of. The terrace, with views of the hills and the valley, adds an extra touch to the experience, because while you eat you can feel the air of Vilaflor and the tranquility of the surroundings.

Los Cipreses is also a perfect place to enjoy homemade desserts or a barraquito (a traditional Argentine coffee drink) at the end of your meal. The feeling is that of being in a special corner of the island, away from the tourist crowds, where the cuisine is prepared with care and that blend of tradition and creativity that characterizes good inland restaurants.

In short: if you're heading up to Mount Teide or strolling through Vilaflor, this restaurant is worth a visit; you eat well, you're treated well, and you'll leave wanting to return, both for the food and the ambiance.

Where to eat

Delisu

If you come to Delisú, I'm telling you: you'll very likely want to go back. It's one of my favorite places for breakfast or brunch in Adeje when I'm craving something different and well-made. Everything is homemade and Colombian, from the grilled arepas filled with various ingredients to the buñuelos, empanadas, and sweets. The products are excellent, the service is friendly, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality they offer.

What to see

La Hoya

The hamlet of La Hoya, in San Miguel de Abona, is one of those places that helps you understand what life was like in southern Tenerife before tourism. Declared a Site of Cultural Interest as an Ethnological Site, it preserves traditional architecture, historic paths, water sources, and agricultural terraces in a rural setting that has changed very little over time.

Activities

Avistamiento de aves Corona Forestal

Birdwatching in Tenerife's Corona Forestal is an ideal experience for nature lovers and those seeking peaceful birdwatching. In the pine forests of Mount Teide, you can see species such as the blue finch, sparrowhawk, woodpecker, and wood pigeon, as well as various birds of prey. A quiet, fresh, and vibrant environment where every step reveals a distinct song and a true connection with the Canary Islands forest.

Beaches
Nightlife
Shopping

Mercado del Agricultor del Valle de San Lorenzo

The San Lorenzo Valley Farmers Market, in the municipality of Arona, is a space where local farmers and artisans offer fruits, vegetables, cheeses, breads, wines, and traditional pastries directly to the public. With a warm and authentic atmosphere, it is an ideal place for those seeking fresh, quality products, while supporting the local economy and the agricultural traditions of southern Tenerife.

Sports

Circuito Motocross

The San Miguel de Abona Motocross Circuit is one of Tenerife's premier motocross venues. Its technically designed volcanic terrain combines jumps, tight turns, and fast sections, offering fun for both experienced and beginner riders. Located in an arid environment overlooking the sea, it is a popular meeting point for motorsports enthusiasts, with a local atmosphere, training sessions, and competitions throughout the year.

Trekking

El Sombrero de Chasna

The Sombrero de Chasna Route is a trail that leads to one of the most iconic mountains in southern Tenerife, renowned for its distinctive profile. From its summit, you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of Mount Teide, the Ucanca Valley, and the southern coast. It is a high-mountain route that combines history, volcanic landscapes, and the pastoral traditions that shaped life on these peaks.
