Escultura de la Giganta

Santa Úrsula

The Giantess of Saint Ursula is a unique statue, approximately 4 meters tall, located in the small public park in the La Quinta neighborhood. The figure represents a woman reclining on a rocky bed, and her body is covered with different plant species, turning her into a living sculpture, changing seasonally. It's a landscaping project that combines art and flora, and the result is visually original and striking.

This space is very peaceful, ideal for a stroll, a quick picnic, or simply contemplating the contrast between concrete and nature. Behind her, there are unobstructed views of Mount Teide, which makes it a great photo op during early mornings or sunny afternoons. Although the park receives little maintenance, it helps accentuate its natural, authentic, and unpretentious appearance.

Getting there is very easy: from the TF-5, take the La Quinta exit and follow Calle de Los Pescadores. On the same avenue, you'll see signs and free parking. It's not fenced and can be visited at any time. There are benches and trash cans, but no restrooms, so it's a good idea to bring water if you plan to stay a while.

Personally, I liked that you can access the sculpture from behind, up to its head—there are steps that allow for a climbing-style photo above the garden. Many visitors also take the opportunity to sit next to or below it, cross their legs, and pose with the landscape. It's not a crowded place, but rather a cozy one.

It's ideal to combine it with the Mirador de La Quinta or take a walk around the area, see nearby cliffs, or have a drink at one of the local guachinche (food stands). In short: it's a perfect place to stop for a few minutes, connect with a living sculpture, and take unique photos in Tenerife without any complications.
