Circuito Motocross
San Miguel de Abona

The San Miguel de Abona Motocross Circuit is, without a doubt, the epicenter of motocross in southern Tenerife. Located on an arid hillside with open views of the Atlantic, it combines the area's characteristic volcanic landscape with a layout designed to test both the riders' technique and endurance. The terrain, made up of compacted earth and volcanic dust, offers excellent grip in dry conditions and is even more difficult after rain, making it a very dynamic and ever-changing circuit.
Its route includes jumps of varying heights, sharp banks, fast straights, and technical corners, all designed to enjoy both free practice and official competitions. It is a wide and safe circuit, with rest areas and designated areas for the public, who can enjoy the spectacle very close to the action.
Throughout the year, it hosts local rider training sessions, regional events, and island championships. It is also a popular spot for enduro and cross-country enthusiasts looking to improve their skills in a controlled environment. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, with a community of fans who know each other and welcome newcomers.
Beyond the sporting aspect, the San Miguel de Abona Motocross Circuit offers a highly visual experience: the contrast between the motorcycles kicking up volcanic dust, the sound of the engines, and the arid landscape in the background creates a scene as intense as it is photogenic. It's an ideal place to experience your passion for motorcycles in a unique natural setting in South Tenerife, where adrenaline and a good atmosphere go hand in hand.

Where to eat
Dulceria Hermano Pedro
If you're passing through Vilaflor and craving something truly sweet, this is one of those places you absolutely have to stop. At Dulcería Hermano Pedro, you'll find homemade pastries, freshly baked and bursting with traditional flavor. You can sit down for a coffee and a slice of cake or simply take some local sweets to go. It's a friendly, village-style place where the service and the quality of the products go hand in hand.
What to see
La Hoya
The hamlet of La Hoya, in San Miguel de Abona, is one of those places that helps you understand what life was like in southern Tenerife before tourism. Declared a Site of Cultural Interest as an Ethnological Site, it preserves traditional architecture, historic paths, water sources, and agricultural terraces in a rural setting that has changed very little over time.
Activities
Cho Pancho
If you're looking for a truly Canarian experience, the Cho Pancho Recreation Area is exactly that: a day trip up into the mountains. Come here with family or friends, set up a picnic or barbecue, and forget about the daily grind. It's a simple place, surrounded by nature, where the most important thing is spending time together. One of those time-honored traditions that, although it has changed, remains very much alive.
Nightlife
Roca Blanca
This beach club, located right on the seafront in one of the quietest areas of Los Cristianos, is ideal for enjoying a leisurely cocktail and stretching out the afternoon until sunset. It features a terrace with tables, a swimming pool, and Balinese beds, which should be reserved in advance. The atmosphere is relaxed, with music and a DJ, perfect for quiet get-togethers with friends or even for working from home with ocean views. It's not a place for formal dining, but rather for savoring the experience, the friendly service, and the sunset as the main attraction.
Shopping
Dulcería Vilaflor
If you want to try truly traditional sweets from our island and you're in Vilaflor, this is the place to stop. At Dulcería Vilaflor, you'll find time-honored recipes, made by hand with natural ingredients. Almond cakes, rosquetes (ring-shaped pastries), and mantecados (shortbread cookies) with that old-fashioned flavor that's hard to find these days. It's a simple, village-style place where you can buy, taste, and quickly understand why they've been in business for so many years.
Sports
BMX San Miguel
The Las Chafiras BMX circuit in San Miguel de Abona is a new 8,000 m² track designed for BMX racing, featuring jumps, turns, starting barriers, and technical ramps. It also houses the skate park within the same grounds, making it a popular spot for outdoor sports and recreation. Classes are offered, and open days are held on Saturdays (10 a.m.-1 p.m.) for €2.50 per hour, open to both members and non-members.
Trekking
Sendero Montaña Roja
Walking the circular route that starts in El Médano and heads toward Montaña Roja is like stepping into an otherworldly volcanic landscape: reddish sand, deep blue sea, and the wind that caresses you with every step. You can see World War II bunkers, aquatic birds, and panoramic views of the southern part of the island. You'll love it if you're looking for an easy hike with that "reconnect with nature" feel in southern Tenerife.
