El Médano
Are you looking for a beach with a surfing vibe, a relaxed atmosphere and unique volcanic landscapes? Then you'll love El Médano, in the south of Tenerife.
It's a very long beach of fine grey sand (yes, grey, because we're on a volcanic island), with the imposing Montaña Roja in the background, perfect for taking photos or going up to watch the sunset. The best thing about El Médano is not just the beach, but the atmosphere: there are cafés with terraces, chill bars and surf shops everywhere.
Also, if you're into windsurfing or kitesurfing, this is THE place to be. The wind is always blowing, so there are people in the water all day long flying through the air (literally).
Want to relax? There are quieter areas to lie in the sun. Want to move around? You can walk along the promenade, grab a board, or lose yourself in the surrounding trails.
El Médano is that place where you go for the beach... and end up staying for the vibe.

Centro Interpretacion Arqueologico Guargacho
The Guargacho Archaeological Interpretation Centre, in San Miguel de Abona, is a space dedicated to showcasing vestiges of Tenerife's pre-Hispanic past: pottery, obsidian tools, and remains of Guanche rituals. It's perfect if you're interested in Canarian history, archaeology, and want to discover a less touristy corner of the island.

Avistamiento de Aves en Montaña Roja
The Montaña Roja Special Nature Reserve, in El Médano, is one of the best places in southern Tenerife for birdwatching. Its semi-arid environment, salt marshes, and coastal areas provide refuge and resting places for numerous migratory species. Kentish plovers, herons, curlews, and sandpipers are common, as well as resident birds such as the trumpeter finch and the stone curlew. It's an ideal place to observe winged wildlife in peace and tranquility.

Cuevas del Trigo
Cuevas del Trigo beach is one of those wild corners of southern Tenerife where you'll feel the island remains untouched. A secluded stretch of volcanic coastline, with natural caves carved into the rock and a tranquil atmosphere, it's ideal for disconnecting, taking leisurely strolls, and listening only to the sea and the wind.

Miel Tament
Tament, which means "honey" in the Amazigh language, is an artisanal gem produced on the same estate that makes Nevales de Abona wine, using Canarian black bees. It is multifloral, pure, and deep golden in color, with a smooth texture and balanced sweetness. Although it doesn't have an official organic seal, it is produced using sustainable and traditional methods. Like the wines, this product can only be found at the San Isidro Farmers Market, at Elsa's stand.

Zona de calistenia en el Puerto de San Miguel
The Calistenia area of Puerto de San Miguel, in Amarilla Golf, is one of these locations that offers a complete experience. The park is beautiful and not particularly large, but it is just outside the sea, just like the port of sports, as it can be seen with views of the boats, the ocean and the volcanic landscape on the Costa Sur. A very tranquil location for outdoor activities in the more urban atmosphere of other parks.

Sendero Montaña Roja
Walking the circular route that starts in El Médano and heads toward Montaña Roja is like stepping into an otherworldly volcanic landscape: reddish sand, deep blue sea, and the wind that caresses you with every step. You can see World War II bunkers, aquatic birds, and panoramic views of the southern part of the island. You'll love it if you're looking for an easy hike with that "reconnect with nature" feel in southern Tenerife.
