When I arrive at Tenerife Green Bowls, I'm surprised by how well-equipped it is: you have a perfectly maintained bowling alley, clean facilities, good shade, and a bar-restaurant right at the edge of the green, called Rendezvous Bar & Bistro, where you can stay after playing, relax, and have a bite to eat. It's located in the Winter Gardens Complex, Avenida del Atlántico, Golf del Sur, and functions as a bowling club and bar-café/restaurant, giving it a dual purpose: sports in the morning/afternoon, and relaxed leisure when the sun goes down.
What makes it special is that anyone can come: if you've never played, they give you space to learn, there are "Roll Up" sessions for beginners, equipment rentals (balls, shoes), and a non-intimidating atmosphere. They also have regular events like the "Roll Up Evening" on Fridays, where people come to try and socialize, even tourists who were on vacation, making the place a meeting point.
Another key difference is the restaurant/bar attached to the alley. It's not just about eating for the sake of eating: they have tables inside and outside, a varied and reasonably priced menu, friendly service, and the views of the lawn while you eat add a plus, allowing you to combine sports, walking, and relaxation without having to travel far.
Plus, the prices are reasonable considering what's on offer: a court, equipment rental if needed, a bar with meals, and the option to stay a while afterward. It's not the cheapest of all the bar/restaurant establishments in the south of the island, but for what it includes—facilities, surroundings, bar/restaurant, and community—it's more than worth it.
If you're going with friends, family, or want to try something different from the typical walk/terrace, Tenerife Green Bowls is a great place to be. It's ideal for lazy mornings, afternoons when you want sun + shade + light activity, or for those looking for a different plan after the beach.

Here you'll find artisanal ice creams with a variety of delicious flavors, perfect for a quick treat while you're strolling or relaxing after a day at the beach. The hamlet of La Hoya, in San Miguel de Abona, is one of those places that helps you understand what life was like in southern Tenerife before tourism. Declared a Site of Cultural Interest as an Ethnological Site, it preserves traditional architecture, historic paths, water sources, and agricultural terraces in a rural setting that has changed very little over time.

The Balinese beds, live music, and terrace overlooking the sea make it easy to end up staying for hours without even realizing it.

Miel Tament
Tament, which means "honey" in the Amazigh language, is an artisanal gem produced on the same estate that makes Nevales de Abona wine, using Canarian black bees. It is multifloral, pure, and deep golden in color, with a smooth texture and balanced sweetness. Although it doesn't have an official organic seal, it is produced using sustainable and traditional methods. Like the wines, this product can only be found at the San Isidro Farmers Market, at Elsa's stand.

Zona de calistenia en el Puerto de San Miguel
The Calistenia area of Puerto de San Miguel, in Amarilla Golf, is one of these locations that offers a complete experience. The park is beautiful and not particularly large, but it is just outside the sea, just like the port of sports, as it can be seen with views of the boats, the ocean and the volcanic landscape on the Costa Sur. A very tranquil location for outdoor activities in the more urban atmosphere of other parks.

Sendero Montaña Roja
Walking the circular route that starts in El Médano and heads toward Montaña Roja is like stepping into an otherworldly volcanic landscape: reddish sand, deep blue sea, and the wind that caresses you with every step. You can see World War II bunkers, aquatic birds, and panoramic views of the southern part of the island. You'll love it if you're looking for an easy hike with that "reconnect with nature" feel in southern Tenerife.
