Avistamiento de aves Corona Forestal
Corona forestal

Birdwatching in the Corona Forestal is one of the most authentic ways to experience the natural heart of Tenerife. This immense green belt surrounding Teide National Park is a sanctuary for endemic and migratory species, where birdwatchers can enjoy a serene, diverse, and surprisingly vibrant environment.
Along the trails of the Canary Island pine forest, it's common to spot Teide blue finches, one of the island's most iconic birds, easily recognizable by their intense blue color and melodious song. You can also see sparrowhawks, which elegantly soar through the forest skies; woodpeckers, which can be heard tapping on tree trunks in search of insects; and a wide variety of birds of prey, from kestrels to owls and falcons.
The black-backed pigeon and the white-throated pigeon, both endemic to the Canary Islands, can be seen in the most leafy areas, feeding on laurel berries and offering a natural spectacle of flight and color. Alongside them, blue tits, blackbirds, and warblers complete the forest chorus.
The atmosphere is quiet and fresh: the air smells of resin, clouds filter through the pines, and the sound of wings breaks the stillness of the landscape. Beyond the simple sighting, the experience has a strong educational and ecological component, helping to understand how the conservation of forest habitats allows these species to survive.
Ideal for those seeking an experience distinct from the beach or the city, birdwatching in the Corona Forestal offers a deep connection with Tenerife's nature, combining tranquility, beauty, and knowledge. Every glance at the sky can reveal a different winged story.

Dulceria Hermano Pedro
If you're passing through Vilaflor and craving something truly sweet, this is one of those places you absolutely have to stop. At Dulcería Hermano Pedro, you'll find homemade pastries, freshly baked and bursting with traditional flavor. You can sit down for a coffee and a slice of cake or simply take some local sweets to go. It's a friendly, village-style place where the service and the quality of the products go hand in hand.
What to see
La Hoya
The hamlet of La Hoya, in San Miguel de Abona, is one of those places that helps you understand what life was like in southern Tenerife before tourism. Declared a Site of Cultural Interest as an Ethnological Site, it preserves traditional architecture, historic paths, water sources, and agricultural terraces in a rural setting that has changed very little over time.
Activities
Tunolandia Canarias
This is a distinctive plan on the island of Tenerife across all the playa and hotels, Tunolandia is one of these curiosities that are so popular. In the Valle de San Lorenzo, this space consists of a variety of tuneras, gastronomy, tradition and products based on high pico. Aquí puedes pasear entre cactus gigantes, probar mermeladas, licores o mojo de tuno y descubrir una cara mucho más rural y diferente del sur de la isla.

Sports
Parque de Calistenia
The Calistenia Park of Vilaflor also has many sports areas in Tenerife that can be used for: climbing the mountains and clear air at more than 1,400 meters in altitude. The installation is very easy, with the basics for a good routine of street workout, but the verdadero is attractive in the exercise. Aquí entrenas entre pinares y tranquilidad absolutea, en uno de los pueblos más altos de España y muy lejos del ambience urbano habitualo.
Trekking
El Sombrero de Chasna
The Sombrero de Chasna Route is a trail that leads to one of the most iconic mountains in southern Tenerife, renowned for its distinctive profile. From its summit, you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of Mount Teide, the Ucanca Valley, and the southern coast. It is a high-mountain route that combines history, volcanic landscapes, and the pastoral traditions that shaped life on these peaks.
