Titolo 4
Bocacangrejo
El Rosario

When you arrive in Bocacangrejo, the first thing you notice is that you're in a real coastal village, not one designed for tourists. The village stretches along a narrow strip by the sea, between ravines and volcanic rock, with white houses facing directly out to sea. You're just a few kilometers from Santa Cruz, but the atmosphere here is completely different: quieter, more relaxed, more like a neighborhood.
Bocacangrejo is part of the municipality of El Rosario and retains its identity as a traditional fishing village. The boats, the rocky platforms by the water, and the small volcanic coves define the landscape. There are no large sandy beaches, but rather natural swimming areas where the sea feels close and untouched. The constant sound of the waves accompanies you throughout.
For a while, the village became well-known for the facades decorated with hearts, painted by a resident as a personal and family gesture. That image went viral on social media and attracted a lot of people. Today, those hearts are gone. The village itself decided to stop displaying them to protect its daily life. What remains is the place itself, without added embellishments, and that restores part of its essence.
Walking through Bocacangrejo means wandering through narrow streets, small squares, and natural viewpoints overlooking the sea. Vehicle access is limited in some areas, which reinforces the feeling of being in a place designed for pedestrians and residents, not for constant traffic.
Local life is still very much alive, and this is also reflected in the cuisine. Very close to the water, you'll find simple places to sit and eat fish or seafood paella, with the sea practically at your table. Everything blends with the surroundings: unhurried, without unnecessary noise.
Bocacangrejo doesn't need embellishment to attract attention. It works when you explore it calmly, when you understand its small scale, and when you accept that you've come here to gaze at the sea, respect the rhythm of the village, and enjoy an authentic corner of the Tenerife coast.
