The trail that connects El Sauzal with Fuente del Pino, in La Matanza de Acentejo is a perfect route for those seeking a peaceful walk steeped in local history. Along the way, hikers traverse rural landscapes typical of northern Tenerife, dominated by vineyards and cobbled paths that once connected neighboring villages. The constant proximity of the sea on one side and the imposing silhouette of Mount Teide on the other make this a scenic and highly photogenic experience.
The final stretch leads to Fuente del Pino, a natural spring surrounded by vegetation, which for generations served as a meeting point for shepherds, farmers, and hikers. This place, rich in symbolism, retains its serene and almost mystical atmosphere, ideal for a pause before beginning the return journey.
