Titolo 4
Parque Recreativo Los Brezos
Candelaria

Los Brezos Recreational Park has a different feel than other picnic areas in Tenerife. Here, the surroundings aren't as enclosed or humid as in Anaga, nor as dry as those in the south. What dominates is the spaciousness: Canary pine forest, open clearings, and that mid-mountain landscape where the sky seems much more present.
When you arrive, you quickly realize it's a place designed for spending many hours. It has picnic tables spaced well apart, barbecues, and areas where you can comfortably settle in without being right next to other groups. The grounds are spacious and quite pleasant to move around in, something that's especially noticeable if you're with children or in a group.
The landscape also has its own unique character. Unlike other more wooded areas, here you'll find patches of broom, gorse, and typical high-altitude vegetation mixed with the pine forest. Depending on the day, you might have crystal-clear views of the coast or find the mountain completely shrouded in low clouds, completely changing the atmosphere.
One of the things that works best at Los Brezos is the sense of tranquility. It doesn't usually have the constant hustle and bustle of other, more famous recreational areas, so the pace is more relaxed. Many people come simply to cook something, take a short walk around the area, and spend the whole afternoon enjoying long conversations and lingering over food.
Furthermore, the area connects with forest tracks and easy trails that allow you to complement your day with short strolls among the pine trees. There's no need to plan a long hike; the appeal here lies more in enjoying the surroundings at a leisurely pace.
It also keeps alive that Canarian tradition of spending the day with family, not as a one-off activity, but as a social ritual that blends food, nature, and shared time, and in Los Brezos, that feels especially authentic because the place still retains a very local and unpretentious atmosphere.
