Titolo 4
El Cartel de la Autopista
La Orotava

On the northern Tenerife highway (TF-5), heading towards Santa Cruz near El Rincón, there's a spot many drivers anticipate almost ritually. Amid the endless morning traffic jam, a twenty-meter-long phrase painted on the mountainside changes periodically, generating anticipation and constant attention.
The sign, signed "Anoniman," has become a small tradition over the years for those who travel this stretch. Its messages play with current events, proverbs, humor, and irony. Sometimes they invite reflection, other times they motivate, and often they simply bring a smile to someone's face in the middle of traffic.
Behind the phrases is a local visual artist who, anonymously, has achieved something unusual: transforming a routine corner of the highway into a space for collective connection. What began as a one-off intervention is now also followed on social media, extending its reach far beyond the highway.
For many, seeing a new message is almost a welcome return to the island. Others see it as a creative outlet amidst daily stress. Whatever the reason, this sign has become part of the emotional landscape of northern Tenerife.
A simple gesture, repeated week after week, that demonstrates that even in the middle of traffic, an unexpected moment of ingenuity and humanity can appear.
