Just a few minutes drive from Costa Adeje, El Puertito de Armeñime seems to belong to another rhythm. This small natural bay is far removed from the tourist hustle and bustle and offers a much more authentic and relaxed experience. Its beach, although neither long nor fine sandy, has a special charm: a mixture of stone and dark sand surrounded by rock formations that protect its calm waters, ideal for a calm swim or a good snorkelling session.
For years, it was one of the best kept secrets of Tenerife South, especially known by those seeking a more direct connection with the sea, without the need for numbered sunbeds or ambient music. Here everything goes slowly: the locals sit on the rocks chatting, some fishermen repair their nets.
Although it has gained some popularity in recent years, El Puertito is still a simple place, with no major infrastructure, which makes it special. There is a small beach bar where you can have a drink overlooking the sea, and a couple of paths that allow you to explore the surroundings on foot. It is advisable to bring booties if you plan to go in the water, and some food or drink if you want to spend the day, as the offer is limited and that is part of its charm.
Ideal for disconnecting, watching a sunset without people around and understanding what Tenerife's coastline was like before the tourist boom, El Puertito de Armeñime remains a haven of peace for those who appreciate the simple and the real.

Montaña Tejina
If you enjoy less crowded hiking in southern Tenerife, this circular route around Montaña de Tejina is a very complete option. You'll walk approximately 13 km around this large volcanic crag, over a thousand meters high, which was a sacred site and key center of social interaction for the Guanches. The route passes through ravines, ancient threshing floors, small hermitages, and traditional agricultural remains. There's hardly any shade, but in return, you'll have open panoramic views for much of the way and a constant sense of a rural, volcanic, and mystical landscape.
