Titolo 4

Pasteleria Italiana

Las Galletas

Must-try dishes
Caffè, Brioches, Cannolo Siciliano, Sfogliatella Riccia, Ciambella

When you step into Aurora, in Las Galletas, you'll feel like you've traveled straight to Italy: their display case overflows with croissants, ciambellas, Sicilian cannoli, and those Neapolitan sfogliatelle that so remind me of a neighborhood pastry shop in Naples. I especially love the pistachio cream-filled croissant: it's soft, creamy, and has a touch of salt that captivates you from the first bite. They also have donuts, brioches, and other traditional sweets that change every morning because, as they tell me, everything is made with care and freshness.

The coffee deserves a special mention: Italian-style espresso, short and strong, and they also make a barraquito, a blend of condensed milk, Licor 43, coffee cream, cinnamon, and a hint of lemon. It's a combination as Tenerife-esque as it is delicious, perfect to accompany any pastry.

The service at Aurora is friendly: the staff can explain each pastry, tell you how they're made, and make suggestions based on your preferences. That makes you feel right at home, even though you're in a pastry shop with exquisite technique and imported flavors.

For me, Aurora is the ideal place for an elegant yet unpretentious breakfast or for treating yourself in the afternoon. It's a place where you lose track of time while deciding whether to try a cannolo, a sfogliatella, or simply another ciambella. If you like artisanal pastries, well-made coffee, and Italian delicacies, you can't miss it.

Where to eat

D´Tapas

If you work in the Las Chafiras area and are looking for a simple place to have an early breakfast or a good lunch without spending a lot, Cafetería De Tapas is a very practical option. The place caters to local workers, so it opens early and is great for quick breakfasts and a set lunch menu for €11. The food is homemade, tasty, and well-prepared for the price, served in a clean and uncomplicated atmosphere.

What to see

La Hoya

The hamlet of La Hoya, in San Miguel de Abona, is one of those places that helps you understand what life was like in southern Tenerife before tourism. Declared a Site of Cultural Interest as an Ethnological Site, it preserves traditional architecture, historic paths, water sources, and agricultural terraces in a rural setting that has changed very little over time.

Activities

A.O.C. PETANCA, LOS CRISTIANOS

The A.O.C. Petanca Los Cristianos is a veteran club in the south of Tenerife, right across from the beach, where passion for this traditional sport is in the air. Located in a quiet, sunny area, it brings together local and visiting players looking for a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. More than just a court, it's a social meeting place where camaraderie, laughter, and healthy competition keep alive a deeply rooted custom in the Canary Islands.

Beaches

Playa de los Cristianos Puerto

Los Cristianos Beach, next to the port of the same name, is one of the most iconic beaches in southern Tenerife. Protected from the waves by the pier, it offers calm waters and golden sand, perfect for swimming and strolling. From the shore, you can observe the activity of the fishing port and the departure of ferries to La Gomera, combining a local atmosphere with the maritime charm of a traditional coastal town.

Nightlife

Roca Blanca

This beach club, located right on the seafront in one of the quietest areas of Los Cristianos, is ideal for enjoying a leisurely cocktail and stretching out the afternoon until sunset. It features a terrace with tables, a swimming pool, and Balinese beds, which should be reserved in advance. The atmosphere is relaxed, with music and a DJ, perfect for quiet get-togethers with friends or even for working from home with ocean views. It's not a place for formal dining, but rather for savoring the experience, the friendly service, and the sunset as the main attraction.

Shopping

BOX-FISH - Dive Shop

BOX-FISH is a diving, freediving, and spearfishing shop located in Costa del Silencio. It stands out for its extensive inventory, very competitive European prices, and fast delivery service to the Canary Islands (in-store and online). It offers equipment rentals, renowned brands, technical assistance, and friendly service. Ideal for both novice and experienced divers.

Sports

Circuito Motocross

The San Miguel de Abona Motocross Circuit is one of Tenerife's premier motocross venues. Its technically designed volcanic terrain combines jumps, tight turns, and fast sections, offering fun for both experienced and beginner riders. Located in an arid environment overlooking the sea, it is a popular meeting point for motorsports enthusiasts, with a local atmosphere, training sessions, and competitions throughout the year.

Trekking

Sendero Montaña de Chayofita

The Chayofita Mountain Trail in Los Cristianos is a simple, short route that offers one of the best panoramic views of southern Tenerife. Its route, just over a kilometer long, gently climbs an ancient volcanic cone to a peak overlooking Los Cristianos, Las Américas, and the Atlantic. It's ideal for a sunset walk, enjoying the tranquility and the cityscape from above.
