Titolo 4
Finca el Pino
La Orotava

Must-try dishes
Chickpeas
Grilled cheese with mojo sauce
Grilled meats
When you arrive at Guachinche Finca El Pino, you're greeted by an atmosphere that doesn't try to be anything it's not: you're in an authentic guachinche, in the heart of the rural area of Los Gómez, above the Cuesta de la Villa in La Orotava. The place has several outdoor terraces, a tranquil garden, and a cozy indoor dining room, all designed to make you feel comfortable from the moment you arrive, whether it's lunchtime or an afternoon meal.
Here, the menu feels genuine and well-balanced for a guachinche: there are starters to share, potato salad, local cheeses, chickpea stew, and escaldón (a traditional Canarian dish); also fish dishes, such as fish in sauce or with onions, and above all, juicy grilled meats—chicken, small fish, ribeye steak, or sirloin—which are usually the most popular choices. The house wine, served by the glass, perfectly complements the food and immerses you in the island's culinary traditions.
What I love most about this guachinche is that it doesn't try to impress with modernity, but with honesty: the produce is local, the cooking is homemade, and the portions are generous. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, ideal if you're coming with children or in a group, and they have private parking, which makes it easy to get there without any hassle.
The homemade desserts change with the seasons and are usually a very welcome sweet ending. And although the service can sometimes be a bit slow—as is often the case in places with traditional cuisine prepared to order—the overall feeling is that you're in a place where you can eat well and feel like you're part of the local community's daily life.
In short: if you're looking for a guachinche with homemade flavour, its own wine, and a relaxed atmosphere in La Orotava, this is one of the places that's truly worth trying.

Where to eat
Persia Tenerife
If you're looking to try something different in Puerto de la Cruz, this restaurant offers a taste of the Middle East without leaving the historic center. Here you'll find Persian cuisine bursting with intense aromas, where saffron, fresh herbs, yogurt, and nuts define the character of the dishes. I love it because it doesn't try too hard to be a tourist: it invites you to discover authentic Iranian flavors in a warm and relaxed atmosphere.
What to see
Escalera de Agatha Christie
If you love literature, this staircase will bring a smile to your face. Right on the Paseo San Amaro, you'll see steps transformed into the spines of Agatha Christie books, painted in vibrant colors and bearing recognizable titles. It's a tribute to her visit to Tenerife in 1927. When you climb them, you're not just walking; you're traversing a part of her history and her connection to Puerto de la Cruz.
Activities
La Guarida del Pirata
At The Pirate's Lair, you don't come to just watch: you come to play, explore, and become part of a story. It's an outdoor family adventure park in Los Realejos, designed for birthdays and experiences where children and adults solve riddles, follow pirate maps, and live a real adventure in the heart of nature.
Beaches
Playa el Ancón
El Ancón beach in La Orotava welcomes you with its dark volcanic sand and a deep blue sea that shifts with the light. It's a wide beach with lively waves and a natural setting that invites you to stroll, gaze at the horizon, and feel the power of the Atlantic. Ideal if you love authentic, unspoiled beaches with a pristine volcanic landscape.
Nightlife
Shopping
Las Llanadas
If you enjoy discovering local products directly from their source, this small artisanal cheese factory in Los Realejos is one of those places where cheese is still made the traditional way. They work primarily with goat's milk and produce fresh, semi-cured, and smoked cheeses, as well as ricotta and other dairy products. It's a place closely linked to the primary sector of northern Tenerife, where the authentic flavor of Canarian cheese takes center stage.
Sports
Barranquismo Barranco de Los Arcos
The Barranco de los Arcos, in La Orotava, is one of Tenerife's most impressive canyoning spots. Its route passes through volcanic rock landscapes, natural caves, and the famous rock arches that give the area its name. It combines rappelling, hiking, and geological exploration in a wild and breathtakingly beautiful setting. Ideal for adventurers seeking an authentic and unique experience in the heart of Tenerife's natural beauty.
Trekking
Sendero de Los Organos
The Los Órganos Trail, in the Corona Forestal Natural Park, is one of the most iconic routes in La Orotava. It passes through a thick, beautiful pine forest to reach the impressive basalt cliffs reminiscent of organ pipes, formed by volcanic action. With views of the Orotava Valley and Mount Teide, it is an ideal hike for nature lovers and those who enjoy peaceful hiking.
