El Jardin de Canarias
San Isidro

Must-try dishes
Cheese rind toast
Mango sirloin steak
Pressed suckling pig
The Canary Garden is a recently opened space in San Isidro that stands out for offering a unique experience, designed for leisurely enjoyment in close contact with nature. It's a spacious venue with multiple outdoor areas, perfectly suited for both relaxed meals and events, especially children's birthday parties and family gatherings.
One of its greatest attractions is precisely its setting. The grounds invite you to relax, move freely, and disconnect, something especially appreciated when visiting with children. It features a large children's area where little ones can play and run around without feeling crowded, allowing adults to enjoy their visit with greater peace of mind. Furthermore, the presence of ostriches adds a striking and unusual touch, making the experience surprising even for those already familiar with many leisure activities on the island.
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a particular charm that makes you feel comfortable from the moment you arrive. The staff stands out for their attentive and friendly service, always making sure nothing is lacking, which reinforces the feeling of being in a well-maintained and carefully run place.
The food is entirely homemade, local, well-prepared, and delicious, perfectly complementing the atmosphere of El Jardín de Canarias: a place to enjoy calmly, share, and return to. It's not uncommon for first-time visitors to make it a regular spot, both for the ambiance and the staff's hospitality.
With its spaciousness, open-air setting, children's area, and unique character, it's a highly recommended venue for families, celebrations, and anyone looking for a distinctive, pleasant, and characterful place in southern Tenerife.

Where to eat
Heladería Artesanal la Tejita
If you're in the La Tejita area and fancy something refreshing after the beach, this ice cream shop is a great place to stop. Here you'll find artisanal ice creams with a variety of delicious flavors, perfect for a quick treat while you're strolling or relaxing after a day at the beach. It's a simple, pleasant, and very convenient spot to indulge without any fuss.
What to see
La Hoya
The hamlet of La Hoya, in San Miguel de Abona, is one of those places that helps you understand what life was like in southern Tenerife before tourism. Declared a Site of Cultural Interest as an Ethnological Site, it preserves traditional architecture, historic paths, water sources, and agricultural terraces in a rural setting that has changed very little over time.
Activities
Tunolandia Canarias
This is a distinctive plan on the island of Tenerife across all the playa and hotels, Tunolandia is one of these curiosities that are so popular. In the Valle de San Lorenzo, this space consists of a variety of tuneras, gastronomy, tradition and products based on high pico. Aquí puedes pasear entre cactus gigantes, probar mermeladas, licores o mojo de tuno y descubrir una cara mucho más rural y diferente del sur de la isla.
Beaches
Cuevas del Trigo
Cuevas del Trigo beach is one of those wild corners of southern Tenerife where you'll feel the island remains untouched. A secluded stretch of volcanic coastline, with natural caves carved into the rock and a tranquil atmosphere, it's ideal for disconnecting, taking leisurely strolls, and listening only to the sea and the wind.

Miel Tament
Tament, which means "honey" in the Amazigh language, is an artisanal gem produced on the same estate that makes Nevales de Abona wine, using Canarian black bees. It is multifloral, pure, and deep golden in color, with a smooth texture and balanced sweetness. Although it doesn't have an official organic seal, it is produced using sustainable and traditional methods. Like the wines, this product can only be found at the San Isidro Farmers Market, at Elsa's stand.
Sports
Zona de calistenia en el Puerto de San Miguel
The Calistenia area of Puerto de San Miguel, in Amarilla Golf, is one of these locations that offers a complete experience. The park is beautiful and not particularly large, but it is just outside the sea, just like the port of sports, as it can be seen with views of the boats, the ocean and the volcanic landscape on the Costa Sur. A very tranquil location for outdoor activities in the more urban atmosphere of other parks.
Trekking
Sendero Montaña Roja
Walking the circular route that starts in El Médano and heads toward Montaña Roja is like stepping into an otherworldly volcanic landscape: reddish sand, deep blue sea, and the wind that caresses you with every step. You can see World War II bunkers, aquatic birds, and panoramic views of the southern part of the island. You'll love it if you're looking for an easy hike with that "reconnect with nature" feel in southern Tenerife.
