Santiago del Teide

Santiago del Teide

Santiago del Teide is one of those spots that preserves the most rural and peaceful essence of southern Tenerife. Situated between mountains, valleys, and lava flows, this town connects the volcanic environment of Mount Teide with the cliffs of Los Gigantes, offering a unique blend of landscape and culture. The town center is small, but its 17th-century San Fernando Church and traditional mansions convey the town's history and character.

One of its greatest attractions is the natural spectacle of the almond trees in bloom, which each winter paint the surrounding trails white and pink. This blossoming has given rise to one of the island's most popular hiking trails, ideal for enjoying with family or friends while traversing fields, ravines, and small villages.

The town is also a starting point for hikes to Teide National Park or the Chinyero volcano, the last to erupt in Tenerife. Its proximity to Masca, Los Gigantes, and Tamaimo makes it a strategic location for those seeking adventure, but also tranquility.

Santiago del Teide exudes nature, agricultural tradition, and a sense of calm that's hard to find in more touristy areas. Here, you come to walk, breathe deeply, and let yourself be carried away by a more leisurely pace. It's perfect for those who want to explore the island's soul without rushing or filtering, with that rural touch that makes it special.

Acantilado de los Gigantes

Los Gigantes are gigantic volcanic walls that rise up to 600 m above the Atlantic, forming a perfect wall between Buenavista del Norte and Santiago del Teide. From the harbour or by boat, the basaltic cliffs offer breathtaking views and rich marine life: dolphins, cetaceans, black coral... pure nature in its raw state.

Via Ferrata Del Risco Blanco

The Risco Blanco via ferrata, in the heart of Guía de Isora, is one of Tenerife's most spectacular. It combines adventure, volcanic landscapes, and open views of Mount Teide and the Atlantic. It's not a route for beginners: it requires good physical fitness and a cool head, but the reward is an altitude experience with breathtaking panoramas and a unique sense of freedom.
