Roque de Taborno

Parque Rural de Anaga

Titolo 4

Roque de Taborno is one of Anaga's most iconic and least crowded landscapes. Located next to the small hamlet of the same name, this mass of volcanic rock rises abruptly from the cliffs, creating an unmistakable profile that has led many to nickname it the "Machu Picchu of Tenerife."

The circular trail that surrounds it is of moderate difficulty and can be completed in just over an hour, although the constant stops to admire the landscape often lengthen the experience. The route offers spectacular views of the northern coast, the deep ravines that open up to the sea, and, on clear days, the silhouette of Mount Teide in the background. Along the way, the laurel vegetation gives way to more open and dry areas, reflecting the transition of microclimates that characterizes Anaga.

Roque de Taborno stands out not only for its natural beauty but also for the isolated and peaceful nature of its surroundings. The small village square is a good spot to rest before or after your hike, enjoying the tranquility of a place that seems frozen in time.

Although it doesn't require great physical effort, the trail runs partly near ravines, so it's advisable to walk with caution, wear hiking shoes, and, of course, bring a camera to capture some of the best views of the island.
