Focacceria MassaMonti

Santa Cruz

Focacceria MassaMonti is one of those places that surprises you from the very first bite. Located in Santa Cruz, it offers a modern and creative take on focaccia, focusing on artisanal products, Italian ingredients, and unusual yet perfectly balanced combinations.

The star of the show is their focaccia brioche bread, soft on the inside and slightly crispy on the outside. Among the standout options are the Provola, with Italian cooked ham, melted provolone cheese, house-made mayonnaise, and arugula; or the Ibérico Romana, with crispy guanciale, red pepper, paprika aioli, and aged Manchego cheese—an intense and flavorful focaccia. Other noteworthy offerings include the brioche with chorizo criollo and the focaccias with guanciale and cherry tomato sauce.

For a sweet treat, they create their own desserts, such as the Sicilian cannoli, crispy on the outside and filled with cream and hazelnut cream with cocoa—the perfect way to end your meal.

The place is small, clean, and tidy, designed primarily for eating at the counter or ordering takeout, with just one table and somewhat uncomfortable seating if you decide to eat in. It's not a particularly comfortable spot for lingering after a meal, but it compensates with fast, friendly, and professional service.

The product quality is very high, and the prices are reasonable for what they offer, although occasionally there can be some inconsistency in the size of the bread or the amount of filling, which is a bit jarring in such a carefully crafted menu. Even so, the flavor and originality outweigh the drawbacks.

In short, MassaMonti is a focaccia shop with personality, ideal for those looking for something different, well-made, and with an Italian identity, and a highly recommended spot within Santa Cruz's culinary scene.

If you're in downtown Santa Cruz and fancy something cold while strolling around Plaza de España, Lucky Helado is a very convenient option. It's a takeaway shop with a variety of ice creams and fast service, ideal for a quick stop before continuing your walk. Perfect for cooling off without any hassle right in the city center. Urban 180

If you enjoy sipping a drink with city views and continuing the night without leaving one spot, Azotea Urban 180 is one of those rooftop bars I love to visit. Located on the seventh floor of the Hotel Urban Anaga in Santa Cruz, it shows: you get a panoramic view of the city, the sunsets take on a whole new dimension, the music and cocktails liven up the atmosphere, and as night falls, the place transforms into a lively rooftop club with a great vibe and people ready to have a good time.

Sendero Charca de Tahodio

The Charca de Tahodio trail in Santa Cruz de Tenerife is one of the closest routes to the city and, at the same time, one of the quietest. It connects the Valleseco neighborhood with a reservoir surrounded by green mountains, offering an unexpectedly natural landscape just minutes from the urban hustle and bustle. Ideal for a relaxing walk, it combines ocean views, monteverde vegetation, and the calm of the reservoir water.
