Playa de las Teresitas

Santa Cruz de Tenerife

If you are looking for a picture-postcard beach in Tenerife, with clear sand, palm trees and calm water, Las Teresitas is the place for you. It's only 10 minutes from Santa Cruz, but it feels like you've jumped straight into the Caribbean.

Unlike many volcanic beaches on the island, here the sand is golden (from the Sahara, no less) and the water is so calm it's like a giant swimming pool. Perfect for swimming, floating carefree or just lying in the sun to unwind.

Everything is close at hand: beach bars for a cold beer, showers, parking and even umbrellas if you don't bring your own. The atmosphere is very local, so it's normal to see families, groups of friends and locals spending the day as if it were Sunday all year round.

And if you like to move around a bit, you can take a walk along the breakwater or go up to the Los Órganos viewpoint, from where you can see the whole beach with the blue sea in the background. Incredible.

In short: Las Teresitas is chill beach, authentic atmosphere and amazing views. A classic that never fails.
