La Estrella del Mar

San Andres

Bar Restaurante La Estrella del Mar is one of those charming spots that give character to the seaside town of San Andrés, very close to the famous Las Teresitas Beach. It's not a large tourist restaurant or a sophisticated establishment: it's a traditional family business, where friendly service, simplicity, and authenticity make all the difference. Its history is intertwined with the neighborhood's traditions, and over the years it has become a meeting place for locals and visitors looking for good, unpretentious food.

Its cuisine revolves around the flavors of the sea. Fresh local fish, grilled or fried, are a highlight, along with squid, limpets, and octopus, as well as traditional stews reminiscent of home cooking. Typical Canarian dishes are also served, such as papas arrugadas with mojo sauce, gofio escaldado (a type of roasted grain flour), and marinated meats, always accompanied by local wine or ice-cold beer.

The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with a simple yet charming style. Its location, right in the heart of town and close to the sea, makes it the perfect place to recharge after a day at the beach. Many visitors highlight the feeling of eating like they're at home, served by a family that has maintained the essence of the business for generations.

La Estrella del Mar is, ultimately, a restaurant that doesn't try to impress with luxury, but with what truly matters: hospitality, home-style cooking, and an authenticity that reflects the seafaring life of San Andrés.

Bunker de San Andrés

The San Andrés Bunker is one of the remaining defensive structures on the coast of Tenerife. Located near the town of San Andrés and Las Teresitas beach, it was built during World War II as part of the island's defense system. Although it is no longer in use today, its presence serves as a reminder of the site's historical and strategic value, as well as offering a curious and photogenic spot overlooking the sea.

Barranco del Cercado

This circular route through the Barranco del Cercado is a hidden gem in Anaga. It climbs from San Andrés along a trail that follows the ravine, between palm groves, reeds, pools, and laurel forest. It then connects with higher trails and descends along a different path, completing the loop. It's about 8km with steep climbs, but the scenery is worth it. If you like authentic, greenery, you'll love it.
