Dulceria Hermano Pedro

Vilaflor

Must-try dishes
The Cakes

If you enjoy discovering authentic places, Dulcería Hermano Pedro is a must-stop on your way up or down from Mount Teide. You don't just come here for a sweet treat; you come to experience that feeling of a well-kept local spot, where everything revolves around homemade goodness.

As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by a display case brimming with cakes, doughnuts, sponge cakes, and traditional Canarian sweets. Many are made right there, with a style of baking that doesn't strive for modernity but rather preserves the classic flavors. The coffee is a perfect complement, and if you sit down, you can savor it at your leisure in a relaxed atmosphere.

The best part is that it's not just about sweets. You can also find simple options for breakfast or a snack, but what truly stands out here are the desserts: homemade cakes, more contemporary combinations like pistachio or passion fruit, and timeless classics. All based on a clear principle: freshly made ingredients, no fuss.

The ambiance is another highlight. It's a friendly, welcoming place where you're served with genuine warmth and without that touristy feel. In fact, it's quite common to see both locals and visitors who stumble upon it and end up coming back.

If you're traveling around the area, this is the perfect spot for a quick stop… and you end up discovering a little bit of everyday life in this part of the island.

Where to eat

Delisu

If you come to Delisú, I'm telling you: you'll very likely want to go back. It's one of my favorite places for breakfast or brunch in Adeje when I'm craving something different and well-made. Everything is homemade and Colombian, from the grilled arepas filled with various ingredients to the buñuelos, empanadas, and sweets. The products are excellent, the service is friendly, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality they offer.

What to see

La Hoya

The hamlet of La Hoya, in San Miguel de Abona, is one of those places that helps you understand what life was like in southern Tenerife before tourism. Declared a Site of Cultural Interest as an Ethnological Site, it preserves traditional architecture, historic paths, water sources, and agricultural terraces in a rural setting that has changed very little over time.

Activities

Avistamiento de aves Corona Forestal

Birdwatching in Tenerife's Corona Forestal is an ideal experience for nature lovers and those seeking peaceful birdwatching. In the pine forests of Mount Teide, you can see species such as the blue finch, sparrowhawk, woodpecker, and wood pigeon, as well as various birds of prey. A quiet, fresh, and vibrant environment where every step reveals a distinct song and a true connection with the Canary Islands forest.

Dulcería Vilaflor

If you want to try truly traditional sweets from our island and you're in Vilaflor, this is the place to stop. At Dulcería Vilaflor, you'll find time-honored recipes, made by hand with natural ingredients. Almond cakes, rosquetes (ring-shaped pastries), and mantecados (shortbread cookies) with that old-fashioned flavor that's hard to find these days. It's a simple, village-style place where you can buy, taste, and quickly understand why they've been in business for so many years.

Sports

Circuito Motocross

The San Miguel de Abona Motocross Circuit is one of Tenerife's premier motocross venues. Its technically designed volcanic terrain combines jumps, tight turns, and fast sections, offering fun for both experienced and beginner riders. Located in an arid environment overlooking the sea, it is a popular meeting point for motorsports enthusiasts, with a local atmosphere, training sessions, and competitions throughout the year.

Trekking

El Sombrero de Chasna

The Sombrero de Chasna Route is a trail that leads to one of the most iconic mountains in southern Tenerife, renowned for its distinctive profile. From its summit, you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of Mount Teide, the Ucanca Valley, and the southern coast. It is a high-mountain route that combines history, volcanic landscapes, and the pastoral traditions that shaped life on these peaks.
