Punta de Teno
Buenavista del Norte
Punta de Teno is a place where nature is at its purest. Located in the northwestern tip of Tenerife, it is part of the Teno Rural Park, one of the oldest geological areas on the island. Access is via a winding road that runs through mountains and ravines, and is restricted at certain times to protect the environment.
Its landscape combines steep cliffs that plunge into the Atlantic, coves of black volcanic rock, and areas where the sea crashes violently. From here, the views of the cliffs of Los Gigantes and the island of La Gomera are especially spectacular on clear days.
The Teno Lighthouse, built at the beginning of the 20th century, stands out, guiding sailors through these historically dangerous waters. For the ancient Guanches, this area was also a natural landmark: the sea and the mountains united in a landscape that marked the limits of their territory, and it likely served as a place for fishing and gathering marine resources.
Today, Punta de Teno is an ideal place to enjoy the tranquility, snorkel in its crystal-clear waters, or simply contemplate the vastness of the ocean. Despite its beauty, it remains one of the most authentic and uncrowded corners of Tenerife, making it a unique experience for those looking to disconnect and experience the island at its wildest.
