Mirador de Humboldt
Santa Ursula

The Humboldt Viewpoint, located in the Santa Úrsula area, is one of Tenerife's most famous viewpoints and a must-see for those who wish to contemplate the majesty of the Orotava Valley. From here, an unforgettable panorama unfolds: Mount Teide rising on the horizon, the Atlantic stretching out without limits, and, in between, a mosaic of banana plantations, crops, and farmhouses that reflect the agricultural wealth of this part of the island.
This viewpoint is named in honor of the German naturalist Alexander von Humboldt, who in 1799, during his trip to the Canary Islands, was captivated by the spectacular valley and described it as one of the most beautiful landscapes he had ever seen. His testimony contributed to making this view worldwide famous, and it has since become a must-see for travelers and nature lovers.
The site features comfortable places to pause, benches, and garden areas that invite you to calmly enjoy the panorama. Visitors and locals alike often stop here on their routes to contemplate how the light changes throughout the day, transforming the colors of the valley and highlighting the volcanic silhouette of Mount Teide.
Beyond its scenic beauty, the Humboldt Viewpoint is a symbol of the union of nature, science, and culture. It represents not only the grandeur of Tenerife's landscape, but also the fascination this island has aroused in explorers and travelers throughout the centuries.

What to see
Escalera de Agatha Christie
If you love literature, this staircase will bring a smile to your face. Right on the Paseo San Amaro, you'll see steps transformed into the spines of Agatha Christie books, painted in vibrant colors and bearing recognizable titles. It's a tribute to her visit to Tenerife in 1927. When you climb them, you're not just walking; you're traversing a part of her history and her connection to Puerto de la Cruz.

Las Llanadas
If you enjoy discovering local products directly from their source, this small artisanal cheese factory in Los Realejos is one of those places where cheese is still made the traditional way. They work primarily with goat's milk and produce fresh, semi-cured, and smoked cheeses, as well as ricotta and other dairy products. It's a place closely linked to the primary sector of northern Tenerife, where the authentic flavor of Canarian cheese takes center stage.
