The Anaga Lighthouse stands at the easternmost point of Tenerife, where the cliffs plunge into the sea and the Atlantic crashes against the rocks. Inaugurated in 1864, it is one of the oldest working lighthouses in the Canary Islands and continues to guide ships around the island to the north. Its completely isolated location makes it one of those places where the harshness and beauty of the Anaga landscape truly come to life.
Access is not easy: you can reach it on foot from Chamorga along a path that winds through ravines and overgrown slopes, or by boat from the nearby coast. The journey offers spectacular views, especially as you approach the hamlet of Roque Bermejo, which serves as the lighthouse's gateway. There, on the promontory, the white silhouette of the building appears, surrounded by the sea on almost all sides.
The setting is breathtaking: constant wind, the sound of the waves, and a silence broken only by seabirds. There are no roads, no services, no modern buildings; Just the lighthouse, its adjoining house, and the volcanic landscape that surrounds it.
