Búnker de la Quinta
Santa Ursula

The La Quinta bunker is one of those surprising places. It's located in a residential area of Santa Úrsula, a few meters from the La Quinta viewpoint, and although it goes unnoticed, it has quite a bit of history behind it. It was built in the 1940s, in the midst of World War II, when the Franco regime feared a possible invasion from the north of the island. Its purpose was to monitor the coast and, in theory, defend it, although it was never used for anything serious.
The bunker isn't very large, but it has two entrance passages, surveillance areas, and openings overlooking the sea from the top of a cliff. Today it's quite deteriorated: covered in graffiti, trash, and without any signs or explanations, but this very dilapidated state gives it a very cinematic feel. From up there, the views are breathtaking, especially at sunset.
Getting there is very easy. From one of the streets in the La Quinta residential area, there's a dirt path that descends just 100 meters. Of course, there's a slight slope, and if it's raining, it can be slippery, so it's a good idea to wear comfortable shoes. It's not a tourist spot or a designated area, but for those who enjoy exploring little-known corners steeped in history and beautiful views, it's well worth the trip. It has that "secret place" feel that's a joy to discover.
