Roque del Conde, also known as Roque Ichasagua, is an iconic volcanic formation located between Adeje and Arona. Its flat summit makes it unmistakable on the southern horizon of Tenerife. At 1,001 meters high, its ascent is one of the most rewarding hikes for those seeking a challenging but exhilarating experience with unparalleled views. From its summit, you can see the entire south of the island, Mount Teide, the Atlantic Ocean, and, on clear days, the silhouettes of La Gomera, El Hierro, and La Palma.
This place has a rich historical and cultural significance, as Guanche oral tradition links it to Ichasagua, a mencey (king) who resisted the Castilian conquest by taking refuge in this natural fortress. The ascent traverses stony paths, slopes covered in Canarian scrubland, and ancient agricultural terraces that evoke the rural life of centuries past.
The route is ideal for those who wish to combine nature, sport, and history. Although not a technical route, it requires good physical fitness, appropriate footwear, and supplies, as there are no shaded areas or water sources. Reaching the summit is an experience that connects visitors with the volcanic landscape of the south and with the legends that still whisper among its stone walls.

Sports
Buceo en el Balito
El Balito, located between Callao Salvaje and Marazul, is a little-known diving spot highly valued by scuba diving enthusiasts. Its calm, clear waters allow you to discover rocky bottoms, caves, and natural arches inhabited by groupers, moray eels, octopuses, and schools of multicolored fish. It's a perfect spot for both beginners and those seeking deeper, more surprising spots.
Trekking
Barranco del Infierno
The Barranco del Infierno is one of Tenerife's most popular hiking trails, and with good reason. It is in Adeje, in the south of the island, and combines wild nature, brutal landscapes and a final waterfall that leaves you open-mouthed.
It is a 6.5 km round trip, well marked and with spectacular views of the ravine, cliffs and typical vegetation of the area. It's not too difficult, but it's not a walk along the beach either, so it's best to bring good shoes and water.
Access is limited to 300 people per day, so you'll have to book online before you go. But it's worth it: fresh air, silence, and a total feeling of being in another world... just a few minutes from the tourist centre.
