La Vieja Licoreria

La Esperanza

La Vieja Licorería is neither your average bar nor a simple liquor factory. It's one of those places that exudes personality from the moment you step inside, where the experience revolves around the product, the surroundings, and a very unhurried approach to things. Located in an old traditional Canarian house in the heart of La Esperanza, it maintains a welcoming atmosphere that invites you to enter without haste and enjoy the place at your leisure.

Its story began in the 1990s when Fabián Cercano (the storyteller) started making small batches of homemade liqueurs to share with friends. Over time, that artisanal project evolved into one of Tenerife's most unique liquor stores, never losing sight of its original philosophy: crafting each liqueur using traditional methods, with natural fruits, herbs, and spices, without artificial additives, and respecting long maceration times.

One of the most striking aspects of visiting the place is the setting itself. The house is surrounded by gardens, fruit trees, and vegetation typical of Tenerife's midlands, creating an atmosphere that seems to have been transported from another era. The aroma of wood, the antique glass demijohns where the liqueurs rest, and the character of the building itself make the visit far more enchanting than a simple tasting.

Here, you can sit at a large table, surrounded by other participants, and sample a wide variety of premium liqueurs crafted right on the estate, from classic recipes to original creations that completely redefine what many people think of as artisanal spirits. Each one seeks to express the authentic flavor of its ingredients, crafted slowly and with meticulous care.

If you enjoy discovering small producers, places steeped in history, and unique gastronomic experiences, La Vieja Licorería is well worth a visit. You'll not only learn how some of Tenerife's most singular artisanal liqueurs are born, but you'll also spend time in a haven where tradition, nature, and tranquility blend seamlessly.

It's one of those intimate experiences that ultimately changes or broadens your perspective on life and the rhythm of the island itself. Currently, it's open only one day a week, and reservations are recommended.
