Titolo 4
Cuevas del Trigo
Granadilla

Arriving at Cuevas del Trigo beach, in the municipality of Granadilla de Abona, is to discover a much more raw and authentic side of the Tenerife coastline. Here you won't find tourist services or amenities, and that's precisely what makes the place so charming. It's a volcanic beach, with pebbles and areas of dark sand, surrounded by rock formations sculpted by time and the sea, which you can only reach by walking along a path for about an hour.
The most striking feature of the area is the natural caves that give the beach its name. These cavities, carved into the volcanic rock, were traditionally used as shelters and today are part of the landscape, lending an almost primitive feel to the whole. Walking through the area allows you to appreciate the power of nature and the silent history of this stretch of coast.
The sea here is usually open and changeable, so it's not a beach designed for leisurely swimming, but rather for enjoying the surroundings, strolling, sitting and contemplating the ocean, or simply disconnecting from the noise. The feeling is one of isolation and freedom, with sweeping views of the Atlantic and an atmosphere especially appealing to those seeking unspoiled places.
Cuevas del Trigo is ideal if you enjoy exploring lesser-known corners, landscape photography, or experiencing the wilder side of Tenerife. It's not for everyone, but if you value tranquility, authenticity, and unspoiled natural spaces, this place will make you feel like you're discovering the true island.

Where to eat
Las Fuentes
Las Fuentes, in Charco del Pino, is a local restaurant with Mediterranean and Spanish roots, where rice dishes and paellas take center stage. I especially enjoy their soupy rice, prepared with care and flavor, as well as the well-executed combinations of meats and appetizers. The friendly service and family atmosphere make it a great place to stop after exploring southern Tenerife.
